The most active venture capitalist

A BOM investment is more than a financial boost. It is a strategic partnership in which we work to build a solid foundation for your business. With more than forty years of experience in supporting entrepreneurs, we are the most active venture capitalist in the Netherlands.

Together with a strong network of co-investors, BOM provides venture capital and hands-on support to start-ups and scale-ups across six focus areas: Decentralised energy systems, Med Tech & Life Sciences, Plant-based, Deep Tech, AI Tech and Defence.

Growing our fund capital towards €1 billion

In the multi-annual period 2025–2028, we aim to expand our fund capital towards €1 billion, with a strong focus on pre-seed development tickets and collaboration with Invest-NL, the Brabant Start-up Fund and pension funds. Catalysing additional resources is crucial to accelerating Brabant’s innovative strength.

BOM manages the SecFund (€100 million) for dual-use innovations and invests through the Brabant Energy Fund in solutions for grid congestion and the energy transition. In addition, existing funds such as COL and LS&H are being phased out to make room for new investment strategies.

As the most active investor in start-ups, BOM accelerates innovation, strengthens companies in Brabant and builds a resilient economy that is ready for the future.
