Developing

Entrepreneurs can only truly grow when the system around them functions well. That is why ecosystem development focuses on the entire environment, the context, and the dynamics in which innovative companies operate—so that Brabant can realize societal transitions faster, more effectively, and with greater impact.

This is ecosystem development

Innovative companies grow faster, smarter, and stronger in an environment that evolves with them. That is why at BOM we continuously build strong ecosystems within four societal themes: Energy, Health, Food and Key Technologies.

Our hands-on approach

Our method is both systemic and action-oriented. We bring the right parties together, combine knowledge, and ensure targeted financing. We identify bottlenecks, create movement and accelerate where opportunities arise. This way, collaborations emerge that open doors, speed up innovations and increase impact. In doing so, we concretely contribute to our mission: sustainably strengthening the economy of Brabant.

Brabant House of Cyber

The Brabant House of Cyber is an emerging collaboration between BOM, Defense, Province of North Brabant, TNO, ASML, Neways, NTS, TU/e, Avans, Brainport Development, and Cyberweerbaarheidscentrum Brainport (cyber resilience center). We work together to strengthen digital resilience and seize economic opportunities by innovating in the field of cybersecurity. This is ecosystem development in action.

Because we work closely within ecosystems and actively gather what companies need, we know exactly where the opportunities lie to accelerate societal innovations. Sometimes this means creating a lab or a place to scale up, sometimes providing support for startups, funding, stronger positioning, international collaboration, or simply a shared agenda. We make sure it happens.

BOM Ecosysteem model EN

Our approach in focus: The Ecosystem Model

We use a model with ten elements – from talent and infrastructure to legislation and financing – that together provide a complete picture of the building blocks of a strong ecosystem.

The ecosystem model offers a clear framework for analysing and strengthening the environment in which innovative companies operate. It maps strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and gaps. It helps to define actions and clarify our role within the playing field, showing where additional effort is required.
