We looked back a little but mostly forward. A year ago we launched our ambition. With ‘Brabant, the Scale-Up Plant of Europe’, we are working towards a future-proof food system. And as Brabant, we are focusing on scaling up companies that develop nutritious and affordable plant-based ingredients.
We do this together with the Province of North Brabant, Rewin West Brabant, and numerous other companies and organizations. The urgency of this collaboration is clear: the pressure on the climate is increasing. This calls for a more sustainable food system.
Yet the transition to fully plant-based is challenging for many consumers. Fortunately, this is not necessarily required. Hybrid food offers a feasible step, without compromising on taste, nutritional value, or mouthfeel. In hybrid food, animal ingredients are partly replaced by plant-based ones.
