The result: so-called ‘hybrid meat products’, with a much smaller CO2 footprint than 100% animal products, without compromising on taste or texture. Recently, they raised an investment from VP Capital, Blossom Ventures Syndicate, and the Brabant Development Agency (BOM).
Important role in more sustainable food
Fiber Foods is making significant progress: it received new orders from large meat producers in the first weeks of 2025 for the development of three hybrid meat products: liver sausage, burgers, and a special croquette. These products will be on the shelves of major Dutch supermarkets in the first half of the year.
By enriching meat with PrimeJack, the dried jackfruit fiber produced by Fiber Foods, Fiber Foods contributes to the transition from an animal-based diet to a (more) plant-based alternative. This aligns well with BOM's mission to further sustainable food systems.

Brabant: hotspot for scaling up food innovation
In 2024, BOM, together with the Brabant Startup Fund (BSF), was already involved in a previous investment round in Fiber Foods and continues to support the company in its mission to get hybrid meat widely accepted in the retail and foodservice industry. Ingrid Nieweg, investment manager at BOM, explains: "We believe that hybrid meat is a crucial step towards reducing our carbon footprint and driving innovation in the food industry in Brabant. Fiber Foods perfectly aligns with our ambition to make Brabant the foodtech Scale Up Plant of Europe."
Broader societal impact
In addition to BOM, VP Capital from the Netherlands and Blossom Ventures Syndicate from Greece are investing in the growth of Fiber Foods and its product Primejack®. Earlier, we published an article about the significant societal impact that Fiber Foods is making in various ways. Erica van Eeghen from VP Capital confirms this: "Fiber Foods not only contributes to a healthier diet and reduced meat consumption, but it also promotes biodiversity and provides employment for young women in East Africa."
Blossom Ventures Syndicate, a network of female investors, sees the growth of hybrid meat as an important step towards a more sustainable food industry and a more balanced investment landscape in Europe.
Hybrid meat widely accepted
With this new financing round, Fiber Foods takes the next step in its mission to make hybrid meat a common choice for consumers and to achieve sustainable change in the food industry. BOM is pleased to be able to contribute to this.
