Eindhoven, Netherlands – [June 20, 2025] – inPhocal, a Dutch deep tech company developing advanced laser technology for fast and precise laser marking applications, has raised an additional €5 million to accelerate the commercial rollout of its patented laser innovation.

The investment round is led by Cottonwood Technology Fund, alongside existing co-lead investor DeepTechXL. Existing investors Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM) and Tech Invest also participated in the round, reaffirming their support for inPhocal's mission.

This additional funding will be used to increase production capacity, further strengthen the technical and commercial team, and expand market reach. inPhocal's breakthrough lies in the ability to focus laser beams with a greater depth of field – up to 20 times longer than traditional systems – enabling ultra-fast, distortion-free marking on curved and irregular surfaces. The ultra-fast marking speed also opens the door to new applications currently out of reach of conventional technology, such as rapidly marking unique QR codes. inPhocal's laser systems already demonstrate significant advantages over conventional laser and inkjet solutions with leading early customers in the food and beverage market. The company's technology not only improves efficiency but also contributes to sustainability by providing a clean, chemical-free alternative to traditional printing and labeling methods.

"We are tremendously excited that Cottonwood, BOM, and DeepTechXL support our vision," says Robert van Tankeren, CEO of inPhocal. "Their support is a powerful vote of confidence in both our technology and our team. With this funding, we are ready to enter the next stage of growth and bring our laser technology to more customers and sectors worldwide."

"The potential impact of inPhocal's technology is enormous, particularly in sectors where speed, precision, and sustainability are crucial," says Patrick Claessen, Partner at Cottonwood Technology Fund. "We are proud to deepen our involvement with the company and support them on their journey from promising deep tech innovator to global industrial player."

This investment round builds on the positive developments at inPhocal, including successful initial sales to leading industrial partners and strong interest from multinational companies seeking advanced, environmentally friendly marking solutions.
