InWarmte takes over the operational portfolio of heating networks from DBH

December 22, 2025
Dubotechniek (part of Hanab) and Brabant Development Agency (BOM) transferred their operating portfolio Dubotechniek Brabant Holding (DBH) to heat supplier InWarmte effective December 15, 2025. The portfolio consists of 8 sustainable heat projects in Brabant and Zeeland with approximately 770 connections at homes and businesses. The heat supply remains unchanged and will continue without interruption.

Background of the transfer

Dubotechniek Brabant Holding is a collaboration between Dubotechniek and Energiefonds Brabant of BOM. With the transfer, both parties sell their operational interest in the heat projects to InWarmte, allowing the operation to be transferred to a specialized and long-term involved heat supplier.

In recent times, Dubotechniek has undertaken a strategic course change, with a clear focus on the design, realization, and management of energy-efficient installations and energy systems. By relinquishing operational activities, Dubotechniek can optimally use its expertise to develop innovative, sustainable solutions for the energy transition.

With this transaction, BOM also chooses its core task: accelerating new sustainable initiatives. By transferring the operational interest, BOM can continue to invest its resources in innovative solutions for local generation, storage, distribution, and smart control of energy to contribute to strategic autonomy, solving grid congestion, and accelerating the energy transition in Brabant and beyond.

About the sustainable heat projects

The transferred portfolio consists of heat projects in Tilburg, Breda, Goes, and Deurne and includes approximately 770 connections in total. The projects are largely based on thermal energy storage (WKO) and provide sustainable heat to homes and businesses. Additionally, part of the portfolio uses rented heat pumps with source heat (ground loops).

For consumers, nothing changes technically: the heat supply continues without interruption. Since December 15, 2025, InWarmte is officially the owner of the projects. As of January 1, 2026, InWarmte takes over all operational tasks completely, including customer service, billing, administration, reporting, and technical operations. All consumers will be informed individually about this.

Furthermore, InWarmte is also taking over a 9th project in Eindhoven (115 homes). This project was originally part of the DBH portfolio, but due to the end of the operational period in December 2025, it formally fell outside the transfer. In good consultation, it has been decided that InWarmte will also take over the operation of this project, so the heat supply for the residents will continue without interruption.

Vision on the acquisition

Operational director Vincent Smeele explains: "We are grateful for the trust that Dubotechniek and BOM have placed in us and are extremely happy with this acquisition. This DBH portfolio perfectly matches our expertise in sustainable heat and cold supply. Thanks to our experience with previously acquired projects, we ensure a smooth transition so that residents and property owners continue to enjoy reliable and sustainable heat without worries.”
